Playing with Topaz Adjust and loving it! Applied HDR Pop, reduced the opacity and used the multiply blend. The frame was created in Essentials 3. This should be my last photo from our trip out west this past year – at least for blogging purposes!

Innocence
Converted this to black & white in Lightroom 3 (my gift to myself). Used a Canon S3 so I had to blur the background a little. The frame was created in Essentials 3.

Winter
This was our first significant snow of the winter. It was (and still is) a nasty one. Cold, snow and a howling wind that won”t quit. I confess I have yet to go outside. I took this from the warmth of my kitchen. I was fascinated by the snow on the screen on the right. The wind currently is blowing from the left to right as I look outside.

Large – Holiday Large
Yesterday my DH took off from work and we went to NYC. At this time of year New York is alive and exciting. We went to a show, had some dinner and walked around. The tree in Rockefeller Center is always something very special. I think the hundreds of people who were there would say the same thing! Of course I couldn’t go into the city without a camera. I took my old Canon S3 – easier to carry, especially given the crowds. Here is my photo of the tree. I did have to boost the color of the lights. There was no way I could have used a tripod or taken a long exposure. Consequently the lights on the tree needed a little boost!

Looking Up
After Thanksgiving we went to a Train show. My granddaughter loves trains! If she wasn’t being held, she was forced to look up to see them. I applied Topaz Simplify – Watercolor to this photo.

A Holiday wish
I have had a blast doing this Virtual Photowalk. I have enjoyed reading the comments and hopefully benefiting from them. Additionally I really liked checking out many of the other blogs and learning from them as well. This is my THANK YOU to everyone who has commented on or looked at my blog this year. And a great big THANKS to those individuals who organized this Virtual Photowalk and kept it going.

Festive
Today is the last day of Hanukah (it is very early this year). Our symbol of the holiday is the menorah which holds eight candles – one for each of the eight days the oil, which was only enough for one day, burned after the Temple was destroyed a very long time ago. The ninth candle is the shamash or “servant” candle which lights the other candles.
Following are photos of two menorahs. The first is the menorah my family used when I was a child. The second is one of the menorahs my daughter and her family use. While they represent the same thing, my daughter’s is a lot more fun!
Both were taken without a flash.
