Toys

This is where my son plays video games. I added the toys we have for my granddaughter.  Of course at the ripe old age of 20 months, she has outgrown some of these toys. (The Tickle Me Elmo is an original and was at one time my 15 year old son’s toy. He still makes him laugh.)

Of course my daughter and son both liked playing with their baby toys when they were older!

Big and Small

My son and I went for a walk today to enjoy the new snowfall. He decided to help me with the Big and Small theme. Here is his handiwork.

Domestic

I thought long and hard on this one. My first thought was a photo of my husband as he makes dinner every Sunday. He was quite relieved when I decided to go for the bottle of wine from the state of Washington. We like domestic wines (although we seem to have a lot of bottles from Australia. Not sure what that is about!!)

What is it

A favorite new toy.

The answer: Yes it is a level. Julie was right. It is a level for the camera. I have a Manfrotto tripod that I love. It is light, yet stable. I find it is easy to use. It does not have a level however. This little gizmo slides into the hot shoe. Voila you have a level.

Glass

This is a piece that was my grandmother’s. As a child I was fascinated with how the deer was etched into the glass. It now resides in my hutch in the dining room. It is signed “Kosta Vicke Lindstrand”.  I took this image inside with natural light (no flash) and a tripod.

White

I really enjoyed my walk in the snow last week. This was a branch of a very small fir tree. Here I see different whites. This image was processed in RAW and a levels adjustment. I finished it with the High Pass filter which is how I finish most of my images.

Simplicity

On my walk in the snow there were these little plants with red berries. Isolated against the white background, they seemed to me to represent simplicity. So here they are.
