Addiction

The hard part was choosing one addiction.  I decided to go with photography. Sorry chocolate.  Friends, family and even strangers use to comment on the number of pictures I would take on vacation. That was in the olden days of film. My response always was that the photos were the cheapest part of the trip. So now with digital it is so easy to take lots and lots of pictures!

Along with my addiction I develop obsessions. My current one is trying to capture geese and ducks in motion. While I am still working on it, here a couple of images (the new lens helps too).

Blue

These doors are on the Freemason Lodge in a neighboring town. I love how you just can’t miss those doors!

worn

This bench sure could use a new coat of paint! Although the background was blurred in the original image, I applied a little extra blur.

New: I agreed with comments from Jens and Tammy and so I redid this image. Cropped the original image to move the bench more to the right. Also blurred the background more to separate the bench from the background.

Packaging

These are biodegradable packing peanuts. They work as well as the white ones. However you can either re-use them or if you put them in water they will dissolve. A really great idea.

Cropped per advice from Merryn.

unexpected-II

I recently did something stupid causing my 55-200mm lens to hit the floor. Since the autofocus mechanism is in the lens, the lens only works in manual mode. My husband surprised me for my birthday by replacing the broken lens with  a 70-300mm VR lens. I still feel stupid but I am very happy!

metal

Quite a few years ago, our town put in all these wooden playscapes for the kids. Splinters became an issue. In recent years they have begun replacing all of the wooden playscapes with ones that are primarily metal. Brightly colored metal playscapes. Perfect for a dreary day!
