Neglected – a story

I know this is a May theme. I am now playing catchup.  Why is this Canada goose neglected you might ask. Well I am going to tell you.

There was goose number 1 on the bank honking away. I think that meant he (I assume he was a male – not sure why) wanted company. In photo 2 another goose comes flying in and lands opposite goose number 1.  All of a sudden goose number 1 takes off after goose number 2 – photo 3. Goose number 2 ends up on the rock  while goose number 1 goes back to his original position. Goose number 2 stood on that rock honking away for the 10 minutes I was there.  No other goose came to join him. I therefore concluded that he must have felt neglected. End of story.

Don’t they mate for life? Could be lamenting a lost love – I would!. Beautifully composed Photos and tale, I would work on the ending though, something like “He Honked Happily Ever After” might do it!

Nice series of shots; such pretty greens and reflections… and ducks. Looks like a very peaceful place to watch wildlife.
