Action II

Nikon D40; ISO-400; F-stop-5.6; 1/800 sec; 270mm; processed using RAW and cropped

I need help here. While hoping to take pictures of the geese/ducks, this little guy popped up. I am not sure what type of bird this is. I am learning (hopefully) a lot here – photography technique etc and that there are more birds in town then robins!

What a lovely looking bird. I love how the colour of the water and reflections all work together. Well done.

Hard to tell in the air, but here in Australia we see sandpipers with similar markings, if it looks like it is on stilts that nay be it. Superb capture, that!

I believe that he is a killdeer. They are really quite common, you see them all over. They lay their eggs on top of the ground, and when you approach the nest, they will fly off and pretend to have a broken wing.

I love the reflection of the bird in the water.

That is so cool, Deena! I love the reflection and the ripple off to the right. Well captured…

    I wish I could help you . . . all I can say is that’s a really cool shot.

I think he’s a killdeer, also commonly called a sandpiper. They are funny little families to watch while the babies are still young. I’ll see them bustling along behind their parent like a row of little ducklings.

Wow! This is so beautiful with the reflection on the water. Can’t wait to see what other birds you find!

The reflection is amazing I though it was another bird. Had to do a double take. Great job.
